neext Infrastructure Think Tank at Scheidt & Bachmann – Shaping the mobility of tomorrow together
How can the mobility transition succeed – and what conditions are required to make future mobility more connected, sustainable, and practical for everyday life?
Under the banner "MOVE IT – Shaping the Mobility of Tomorrow" the neext Infrastructure Think Tank brought together around 50 decision-makers from the mobility, infrastructure, technology, and business sectors at the Scheidt & Bachmann headquarters in Mönchengladbach.
The event kicked off with a keynote by Malte Kendel (Tesla) on the future of modern mobility. In the subsequent panel and fishbowl discussions, representatives from SIXT, AUDI AG, HDI Global SE, the Sozial-Holding der Stadt Mönchengladbach, ABB, and other companies exchanged views on connected mobility, societal demands, and the role of new technologies. Additional insights were provided by Felix Heinrichs, Mayor of Mönchengladbach, as well as other experts from the business world and industry associations.
Our key findings:
- Connected mobility delivers genuine added value.
Technology gains traction when it makes mobility simpler, more seamless, and more convenient. - Experience builds trust.
New mobility solutions are most readily adopted when people can try them out for themselves and experience their potential in everyday life. - The mobility transition is part of a comprehensive structural shift.
It requires long-term investment in infrastructure, intelligent connectivity, and solutions that meet the needs of cities and their residents. - Mobility is the foundation of social participation.
It enables freedom, employment, and social inclusion—and therefore requires close cooperation between the private sector and the public sector.
The neext Infrastructure Think Tank has once again demonstrated that the mobility of tomorrow takes shape where diverse perspectives meet, knowledge is shared, and collaborative work creates future-proof solutions.
A heartfelt thank you to all speakers, participants, and partners for the open exchange and valuable insights. Special thanks go to Scheidt & Bachmann Parking Solutions and the entire Scheidt & Bachmann Group for their hospitality and support.
